Believe it or not, according to Jonar Nader, a German Law Association has submitted a proposal to several leading Bar Associations urging them to join their petition to the United Nations demanding that High Court Judges, and Appeals Judges be held accountable for their decisions.

“Very often, judges rush through cases, and adopt a ‘Judge Judy’ approach to justice. They fail to properly consider many of the details of the case put forward by plaintiffs and defendants,” said a spokesman for ‘The Campaign for Responsible Justice’.

“All that we ask for is that Judges become personally liable and responsible for bad judgements,” he added, ‘company Directors have to face similar accountability – so why not judges?’

It is argued that if judges were no longer able to hide behind their bench, their decisions might be evaluated much more carefully.

This is one of those impossible cases that might never see the light of day because it will require judges to pass such a law. So it is hardly expected that judges would impose such a burden upon themselves.

Legal commentators agree that it is better to pass a law now so that the liabilities of judges can be properly defined. Otherwise, a loophole in the system might set a precedent that could prove insurmountable.

Cynics are alleging that a loophole must have already been found, and that the push by the ‘Campaign for Responsible Justice’ is a red herring designed to give judges the opportunity to revise the laws and eliminate that loophole before it starts to cause them problems.

All this, under the guise of ‘justice for all!’

Believe it… or not.
