From the Lose Friends series, here is what Jonar Nader has written about: MANAGEMENT FADS
It is not advisable to exert your energy to hold back the tide of management fads. Instead you ought to remove the triggers. This is where an understanding of ‘focus’ and ‘awareness’ is needed. Focus does not mean blindness to the surrounding environment. Attention to one thing does not mean neglect of another. The solution lies in the realisation that there are no ultimate answers. An organisation needs to be able to grow. But it cannot grow in bursts. It cannot grow in huge punctuated breaths marked by the annual ritual of musical chairs. It can only develop like every other living organism develops — through daily expansion via daily doses of nourishment. Organisational hygiene should not be a ritual, but a daily routine to weed out the dead cells.
