From the Lose Friends series, here is what Jonar Nader has written about: E-COMMERCE?
E-commerce does not stand for electronics in commerce. Rather, it is all about commerce in an electronic, digital, networked world. Furthermore, the most important element to comprehend is that convergence must not focus on the materials being brought together, but on what it is that the new combination produces. For example, ask your friends the following question: ‘What do you get when you combine copper, wire, paint, a resistor, and aluminium, and then have it powered by electricity?’ After a series of clues, your colleagues might arrive at an answer ⎯ a toaster. This is a trick question that helps to illustrate the essence of convergence. The most important end product in this combination of materials is not the toaster, but the toast.
So it is with e-commerce. The end result is what matters, not the combination of technology with the commerce.
