From the Lose Friends series, here is what Jonar Nader has written about: LEADERS WITH VISION
The most important function of a leader is to ‘carve a new path’. Leaders are path-makers. The most important quality for a leader to have is vision. However, note that vision is a very difficult concept for people to understand. Vision is not about words. The word ‘vision’ means ‘to visualise’. You have to see something completely and totally. The best analogy I can give you is sex. When someone is lusting over somebody else, notice the visual impact that is drawn, because the brain is a wonderful theatre. Sexual fantasy is so rich, so colourful, so intricate, and so beautiful because you can construct it in your head, and you can see what you want. So if your company has a leader, that person has to be carving a new path, and have a vision that is absolutely clear. The trouble is that vision is sometimes very difficult to share. This is where trust comes in. If you do not trust your leader, then one of you has to either ‘let go’ or ‘go’.
